Jason is a highly experienced Registered Psychotherapist specializing in the mental health field. With over twenty years of expertise, he has successfully treated individuals dealing with various issues such as anxiety, depression, childhood abuse, trauma, and PTSD. Jason possesses extensive knowledge in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, struggled with poor attachment, or are recovering from abusive relationships.

Having received training from renowned experts in the fields of trauma, neuroscience, and mind-body healing, Jason is well-equipped to assist you in finding relief from distressing symptoms, facilitating positive behavioral changes, and reconnecting with your True Self.
Jason firmly believes that a significant portion of emotional pain stems from unresolved memories and traumatic experiences, including difficulties in early childhood attachment. He adopts a collaborative approach, working closely with you to address and heal the emotional pain associated with past memories. Through this process, he aims to transform the defences that keep you trapped in unhealthy patterns of guilt, blame, and shame.

Upon conducting a comprehensive assessment, Jason will help you gain insight into negative thought patterns and life traps that contribute to dysfunction. The next phase involves creating a personalized coping plan tailored to your specific needs, empowering you to make healthy changes with confidence. Ultimately, the goal is to address the root cause of your issues, enabling lasting transformations in your life.

Jason employs various mind-body therapies, including Internal Family Systems, Gestalt, Inner Child Work, EMDR, Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT), and Somatic Hypnotherapy. These approaches are designed to facilitate healing with trauma and attachment. Additionally, clients have the option of incorporating advanced Neurofeedback Training into their psychotherapy sessions. This medication-free option focuses on regulating the central and autonomic nervous systems by creating new neural pathways, offering long-term relief from symptoms.

About Jason

Jason holds a Master’s Degree from the esteemed University of Toronto and has actively pursued extensive training and certification from the Gestalt Institute of Toronto. He successfully completed the rigorous five-year Postgraduate program in Professional Psychotherapy, focusing on Gestalt therapy. Gestalt therapy is a mind-body approach that helps individuals recognize how they hinder their own needs and support by relying on outdated defence mechanisms. At its core, Gestalt therapy emphasizes cultivating present-moment awareness, connecting with the body’s wisdom, and fostering authenticity in oneself and in relationships with others.

In addition to his private practice, Jason has gained valuable experience working with community-based clinical counselling agencies in Newmarket and York Region. During his employment, he provided counselling and psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, and families. He also supervised students and worked with both perpetrators and victims of domestic violence. Jason’s background in working with diverse populations, cultural backgrounds, and individuals of different sexual orientations has equipped him with a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals.

Jason is a devoted and passionate therapist who believes in the collaborative journey of activating his clients’ inherent capacity for healing. He firmly believes that true healing occurs when individuals embrace all aspects of themselves with acceptance, and compassion. By taking responsibility for their own lives and needs, and by letting go of the need to conform to something they are not, individuals can embark on a transformative path towards healing and growth.
